Donald Francis Mizanin Sr., age 85, of Dyer, IN, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016. Beloved husband of Loretta Mizanin nee Godzinski. Loving father of David Mizanin, Donna Mizanin, Michelle (Tim) Ojermark and Donald (Dawn) Mizanin Jr. Proud grandfather of Brittany (Brendan) Butler, Timothy Ojermark, Naithan and Brandon Mizanin; great grandfather of Matthew and Luke Butler. Dear brother of Ronald Mizanin, John (Elizabeth) Mizanin Jr., and the late Audrey Seibt. Preceded in death by his parents John and Madonna Mizanin Sr. Visitation Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service officiated by Chaplain Nicholas Perkins to be held at 6:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN. Inurnment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery - Elwood, Illinois. Donald was a Korean War Air Force Veteran. He was a safety engineer and retired from Waste Management after many years of service. He was also a well-known musician in the area.
