Donald J. Olthoff, age 87, of Thornton, IL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 12, 2020.  Beloved husband of Janet Olthoff, nee Kerkstra.  Loving father of Valerie (Richard) Knoll and Daniel (Carol) Olthoff. Devoted grandfather of Ryan (Rebekah) Knoll, Heather (Casey) Yoshihara, Sarah (Juan) Jimenez, and Erica (Joshua) Bice and proud great-grandfather of Hailey, Chloe, Carson, Hope, Nathan, Lexi, Jonah, Noah, Kyah, and Lauren.  Dear brother of Dorothy (late Calvin) Hoekstra, late Willard (Charlotte) Olthoff, late Ralph (late Jean) Olthoff, and the late Bernard (late Shirley) Olthoff.

Visitation Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home,  2121 Pleasant Springs Lane -  Dyer, IN. The funeral service will be live streamed at our Facebook page at https:/ww.facebook.com/SmitsFH . Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.  Don was a farmer for most of his life. When he "retired" from farming, he drove a cement truck for 10 years for Ozinga. He loved to play with his grandchildren, and later his great-grandchildren, and loved to joke around with them.
