Donald William Scholte

Donald William Scholte, age 89, of Momence, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Beloved Husband of Annette Scholte nee Huizenga. Loving father of Deborah (Rick) Klemoff, Renee (Mario) Mondragon, Andrea (Allan) Gadberry, Tammy Scholte, James Scholte and Timothy (Ellen) Scholte. Loving stepfather of Russell (Heather) Hoekstra and Roger Hoekstra. Cherished grandfather of 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Bernadine (Fritz) Oberc and Patricia (late William) Smith. Donald was preceded in death by his first wife Joan Scholte nee Ziobrowski, siblings; Carol (late Bernie) Kieft, John (Sharon) Scholte, Ronda (Jim) Taylor, and parents, William and Marie Scholte. Don was a proud lifetime member of the Carpenters Union Local 599, retiring in January of 2001. Don was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 12:00 p.m. directly at Community Church of Roselawn 10498 N. 450 E St. Demotte, IN 46310. Interment private at Chapel Lawn Cemetery of Crown Point, Indiana. Arrangements entrusted to Smits Funeral Homes 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer Indiana 46311.
