Donald E. Stonerock Sr., age 77, of Thornton, IL, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Patricia Stonerock, nee Whistler; children: Donald Jr. Stony (Nancy), Susan(Wayne) Lakeberg, Sheila(Glen) Scott, and D.J.(Pam). 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and 2 on the way ; adopted sons: Michael Barnhart and James(Jane) Candell; two brothers: Lee(Jenny) Stonerock and Vergel(Palma) Stonerock and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son: Dennis L. Stonerock, his parents: William H and Sylvia Stonerock, and 1 brother and 2 sisters. He was a retired employee of Cardwell-Westinghouse; Past Master Harvey Masonic Lodge#832 A.F.&A.M., Past Commander and Life member of the Thornton American Legion, member of Thornton United Methodist Church . A Thornton resident for 48 years and former Thornton Village Trustee, Don was in charge of Thorntons 4th of July Firework celebration for over 30 years.
