Donna Jean Lefers

Donna Jean Lefers, nee Dykema, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Roger Lefers; her daughter Krista (Lefers) McCoy and her children Kala and Kyle; her son Mark (Diane) Lefers and their children Megan, Alexsandra, Lucas, Andrew, Nia, Samiya, Isaiah and Emma; her son Jonathan (Rachel) Lefers and their children Noah and Caleb. Donna was diagnosed with a rare form of gastrointestinal cancer in 2006. After a 4 year struggle with this cancer, she succumbed to the illness. We thank God for her humble life, her Christian example, and her many acts of service and love. She always preferred to serve rather than to be served. Donna has helped many in such ways as serving at Calvin Christian School, Illiana Christian High School, Roseland Christian School, Pullman Christian Reformed Church in Chicago, and helping care for others. Her life touched many in humble ways. Through it all she gave us gifts of lasting value. We will miss her deeply.
