Donna J. Wands

Donna J. Wands, age 87, of Dyer Indiana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born in Lansing, IL to the late Gilbert and Hattie DeVries on May 18, 1938.

In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her son John Cosgrove, Jr, and her siblings Dorothy De Young, Jean Lutke, Mildred Hoogeveen, and Robert De Vries, her brother-in-law Richard Wands, and her sister-in-law Joanne O'Keefe.

Survivors include her loving and dedicated husband, William Wands, son Michael Cosgrove (Karen), daughters Beth Pifer (Ray), and Dee Schaaf (Ron), stepdaughters, Laura Wands, Wendy Olleris (Larry), and Kathe Kalmansohn, siblings, Fred De Vries and Bonnie Boomsma. She was abundantly blessed with 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Donna attended Illiana Christian High School in Lansing, IL, and South Christian High School in Cutlerville, MI, where she graduated in 1956. She was a member of Village Church in Dyer, IN. After she retired as a pharmacy technician, she and Bill enjoyed traveling, snorkeling, and visiting family in various states.

The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers. She will be dearly missed but we are comforted by the fact that she is in Heaven with her Lord Jesus Christ.

Visitation with family and friends will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN.
