Doris J. Stewart

Doris Jane Stewart, age 81, died July 4, 2023, peacefully in her grandson’s home in the presence of her grandson, granddaughter-in-law, and three great-grandchildren. Doris was greeted into heaven by her loving husband Arnold, her daughter Kimberly, her son Greg, and her two great-grandchildren Paislee and Brooklyn. She is survived by her daughter Sherry (Mike) Shelby, her grandson Kyle (Jennifer) Stewart, her granddaughter Kristy (Rick) Perez, her eight great-grandchildren: Alianna, Noah, Kolton, Cameron, Emily, Alexia, Lilah, Ashden (Junior), and many family members and close friends.
Doris was a member of Beecher Fellowship Baptist Church where she proudly served the Lord with her church family that she loved so dearly. Doris loved baking, cooking, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed lifetime and hallmark movies, hosting holidays, and sitting outside with her coffee enjoying her beautiful flowers and the sunshine. Doris was a kind, giving, and loving woman who would help anyone and never knew a stranger. She will be greatly missed, held close to our hearts, and always honored.
Visitation Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Il.) Interment Memory Lanes Memorial Park – Crown Point, IN. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Beyond Batten Disease Foundation appreciated.
