Dorothy was a happy person who always smiled and was genuinely happy to see you. She was thoughtful and would offer to feed you when you came to visit. If you needed help, she would gladly help you. She was a good cook and made the best desserts. She loved sweets, especially ice cream. Maybe that contributed to her being such a sweet person. Dorothy was a musical person. She played the piano and violin. She would sing around the house and often sang to her children. She enjoyed listening to the Barn Dance on the radio and sang in the choir at church. Church Hymns were always her favorite music. She was smart with an excellent memory. She was a walking dictionary and excelled at Trivia. She had worked as a secretary and used those skills at home and church. She typed everything including postcards that she sent to out-of-town friends and family. Dorothy was always honest and lived by the Golden Rule. She taught her children these values. She worked hard to take care of her family and never complained. Family, church and her faith in God were important components in her life. Dorothy was a beautiful person inside and out. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
