Dorothy J Overbeek

Dorothy J Overbeek, 94, of Momence, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 19, 2014) at Our Lady of Victory in Bourbonnais. She was born on July 15, 1920, the daughter of Fred and Rose (Tibstra) Slagter. Dorothy married Arend Overbeek in 1940. Arend past away November 8, 1982. Dorothy retired from Baker and Taylor in the clerical department and previously worked with DeJong Farms at the farmer''s market. She enjoyed baking, word puzzles and time spent with her family. Loving mother of Glenn (late Judy Kros) Overbeek, James (Jeanine) Overbeek and Doreen (James) Piekarczyk. Cherished grandmother of Teri (Mike) Bruck, Jack (April) Overbeek, Jeff (Kristy) Overbeek, Cheryl (Scott) Trumble, Aaron Piekarczyk, Emily (Josh) Clyden and Elise Piekarczyk, ten great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Dear sister of the late Sidney and the late Ira Slagter. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday November 21, 2014,with funeral services Saturday 10:00 a.m. at Momence Funeral Chapel 203 N.
