Dorothy L. Tanis, nee Barth, age 82 of Crete, IL, passed away on June 12, 2007. Dorothy is survived by her husband: Thomas; two daughters: Dolores(Donald) Treadway of Valparaiso, IN and Patricia(Gilbert) Swets of St. John, IN; 6 grandchildren: Rick(Cindy) Eriks, Mike Eriks, John Swets, Tom Swets, Cyndee(Tim) Breshock, and Mary(Jason) Westgore; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson: Daniel L. Eriks. Visitation, Thursday June 14, 2007 from 3:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Homes-Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL). Funeral Service, Friday, June 15, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with services conducted by Rev. Philip Humber. Interment, Skyline Memorial Park - Monee, IL.
