Douglas W.E. Doug Steffen, age 62, of Glenwood, IL. Passed away suddenly Saturday, July 11, 2009. Devoted father of Daniel and David Steffen. Former husband of Martha Steiner, mother of Daniel and David. Proud grandfather of Abi Rose Steffen. Dear brother of Carol Kiefer, Earl Steffen, and the late Audrey Griffith. Stepfather of five stepsons. Loving companion of Linda Ryan. Kind friend to many other extended family members, especially to Lauren, Jeremy and Mackenzie. Visitation Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL 60473 with Rev. Harold Wahl officiating. Interment Private. Doug was a Vietnam Era Air Force Veteran and a former firefighter with the Milwaukee Fire Department.
