Edward M. "Eddie" Christo, age 79, of South Chicago Heights, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Beloved husband and best friend for 58 years of Alba Christo nee Granno. Loving father of Raymond (Diane) Christo, Robert (Deborah) Christo and Rodney Christo. Dear grandfather of Erica, Bethany, Matthew, Nicholas and Gabrielle and uncle to many nephews and nieces. Cherished brother of Marge (Herb Hebert) LaBello and Donald (Cynthia) Christo. Preceded in death by his parents Sam and Edith Christo. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Homes- Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL. Mr. Christo retired after 37 years as a manager and meat cutter for Jewel Food Stores. Entombment Assumption Cemetery - Glenwood, IL. Memorials may be given to the family or to the American Heart Association.
