Edward P. Cook Jr., age 75, of Schererville, IN, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth "Betty" C. Cook nee Meadows. Loving father of Ed (Carrie) Cook and the late Thomas Cook. Proud grandfather of Brianna and Braedon Cook. Devoted son of the late Edward and the late Vera(Morgan) Cook. Dear brother of the late Thomas (Jean) and Richard (Charlene) Cook. Kind uncle of many nephews and nieces. Visitation Friday, November 15, 2013 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Prayer service Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN 46311 leaving for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (One Wilhelm St. Schererville, IN) with Rev. Ted Mauch officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery - Calumet City, IL. Mr. Cook was retired from Schepel Buick-GMC in Merrillville, IN. He was a member of the Singing Men of Note Barbershop Chorus, an active parishioner and member of St. Michael''s Church Choir, a former Schererville Town Councilman, and a member of the Mt. Carmel Alumni Association.
