Edward Eriks

Edward Eriks, age 101 (four days before his 102nd birthday), of Crete, IL, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Joanne Eriks, nee DeBoer. Devoted father of Ronald (Sherri) Eriks, Richard Eriks and Marilyn (late Henry) Boer. Proud grandfather of Rick (Cindy) Eriks, Denise Detmar, late Danny Eriks, Doug (Amy) Eriks, Mike (Penny) Eriks, Cherilyn (Kevin) Klomp and Brian Eriks; great-grandfather of 15; great-great-grandfather of one.  Dear brother-in-law of Ruth (late Marvin) Eriks. Preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters and one grandchild. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 3:00–8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN. Funeral service Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at First Church (PCA) 3134 Ridge Rd, Lansing, IL, with services conducted by Rev. Ben Kappers. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery–Lansing, IL. Mr. Eriks was a dedicated World War II Army Veteran. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice Care Centers-JourneyCare.
