Edward K. Mead

Edward K. Mead, age 89, of Steger, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. Beloved husband of 66 years to the late Dorothy Pearl Mead, nee Northcutt. Loving father of Bruce Mead, Joel Mead, and Jane Mead. Cherished grandfather of ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his siblings David and Shirley, and by his parents Charles and Mary Mead. Edward was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free

I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took his hand when I heard him call

My life's been full, I've savored much,

good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,

don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

God wanted me now:
