Edward Stouwie, age 96, of Crete, IL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Jennie L. Stouwie, nee Lindemulder. Loving father of Lenore (Rev. Albert) Vandermeer, Janice (Randy) Bode, Edward J. (Mary) Stouwie, Joanne (Gys) Van Baren, and Sharon Derks. Cherished grandfather of 17; dear great-grandfather of 39. Dear brother of Edith Stouwie Hanneman and preceded in death by John (Christine) Stouwie Jr., Julius (Helen) Stouwie, Hattie (Jacob) Decker, Martha (George) Buursema, Edith Stouwie (2 years old). Mr. Stouwie was a member of the Crete Protestant Reformed Church in Crete, IL and was retired from Nabisco. Visitation Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Crete Protestant Reformed Church (1777 E. Richton Rd. Crete, IL 60417). Private burial will be Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Crete Protestant Reformed Church with services conducted by Rev. Nathan Langerak.
