Elaine M. Cortez (nee Roop), age 68, of Chicago Heights, IL, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2018. Beloved wife of Thomas Cortez; loving mother of Leonard (Cynthia) Flahive, Kimberly (David) Duncan, and Shelley (Gary) Bell; adoring grandmother of Marlana (Ryan) Thompson, Kyle Green, David Duncan JR, April, Rachael, Amy and nine great grandchildren; dearest sister of Robert H. Roop, Raymond E. Roop, David A. Roop, Randy G. Roop, Charles D. Roop, Sue E. Choate, George O. Roop and Mary K. Keith. Elaine will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
