Elinor B. Lacey, nee Barankiewicz, age 85 of South Holland, IL was called home to God on Sunday, August 7, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Lacey. Loving mother of Paul (Susan) Lacey, Patrice (late Roye) Saitta, and Peter (Carol) Lacey. Devoted grandmother of Christopher, Bridgette, Joshua (Jose), Kimberly (Julie), Kaitlyn (fiance Cain), Michael and Sydney. Dear sister of the late Eugene (late Phyllis) Barankiewicz. Dear sister-in-law of Albina (Edwin) Troscinski, Leonard (Marilynn) Lacey and the late Loretta (late Thaddeus) Nijakowski. Special cousin of Sr Margaret Rose Szcesniak, OSF, and Susan Pearson. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Elinor was a retired Operations Officer for Harris Bank, Chicago. She and her husband, the late Stanley (Trust Officer) served more than 55 years combined service with the bank. A long time resident of South Holland, she was highly involved with her children and grandchildren taking great pride in their accomplishments. She could always be spotted in the cheering sections of their many band, theater and sporting events. Formerly of South Chicago, Elinor was very active in the Mother’s Guild at St. Bronislava Parish. Her passion was her love of God and family. Whether rocking the children to sleep or exercising her prowess in the kitchen, she catered to the hearts of her family and to God. As a loyal wife and mother she truly lived the Christian life, Generous, thoughtful and loving. It was her wish that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. A Memorial Mass For Elinor will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 768 Lincoln Ave., Calumet City, IL.
