Elloise H. Vandemerkt, nee Minneman, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, December 8, 2019 surrounded by her loving children. Loving mother of Christine (Daniel) Geisler, Thomas (late Nancy) Vandemerkt, and Susan (Mark) Warner. Dear sister of Jackie (Eldon) Buss. Preceded in death by her husband Herbert W. Vandemerkt, her parents Rev. Harry and Liddy Minneman, and two sisters Joyce Emily and Ann (Edwin) Suhs. Elloise was a long-time resident of South Holland. She was a founding member and attended church regularly at Redeemer Lutheran Church of South Holland. She was a retired school teacher from district 149 in Dolton. Elloise was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law and sister. Her love for her family was most important in her life along with a strong faith which guided her throughout her life. Elloise was a very talented artist who loved to do oil paintings and miniatures. She left a legacy of happy memories to those who loved her and will miss her.
