Emeline "Mickey" Marie Poelstra-Pickands

Emeline “Mickey” Marie Poelstra-Pickands, age 82, of Crete, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Pickands and the late Gary Poelstra. Loving mother of Beth (John) Jemilo and the late Brian Poelstra and step-mother of Cary (Rebecca) Pickands and Scott (Kim) Pickands. Cherished grandmother of Lynsey, Garrett, Gavin, Scott Logan, Chad, the late Adam, Kayla and Tyler. Dear great-grandmother of Waylon, Johnny, Abigail, Wyatt, Dylan, Dominic, Nolan, and Marley. Emeline graduated Morgan Park High School and St. Xavier College. She loved antiquing with Ron and friends. She loved watching her grandkids play hockey, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer and cheerleading. Emeline will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial Visitation to be held Monday October 9th, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. at Smits – Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Illinois 60475. Inurnment to be held at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.
