Emil M Komer

Emil M. Komer, 90, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away, Friday, November 16, 2012, surrounded by his daughters and family after a brief illness. Emil was born March 18,1922 in Chicago Heights to John and Stella Komer. He is survived by his loving daughters: Catherine Ellis of San Antonio, Texas and Carol Serici-Griffin (Jeff) of Marion, Ohio. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Lauren Ellis-Walsh (Matt), Nathaniel Ellis ( fiancee Lindsay Loocke), Joseph Serici, Jr., Anthony Serici, and Jeanna Serici, 2 great grandsons: Andrew and Peter Walsh, and numerous nieces,nephews, and friends. Mr. Komer was preceded in death by his wife, Velma D. Komer, his parents, 6 brothers, and 1 sister. Mr. Komer was a veteran of World War II and retired from Ford Motor Company- Chicago Heights Stamping Plant 1983. He Was originally from Steger, Illinois and had been a resident of Homosassa, Florida at the time of his death. Visitation will be held at Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Road, Steger, Illinois 60475) on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 9-11 am with funeral mass at 11:30am at St. Liborius Church (71 W. 35th Street, Steger, Illinois 60475. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens (3901 Park Avenue,Steger, Illinois 60475 immediately following. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Homosassa, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in Emil's memory to Sturgill Hospice Care Center, 12242 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, Florida 34613, the VFW, or charity of your choice.
