Erwin A Hecht

Erwin A. Hecht, 95, a lifelong resident of Steger, Illinois, passed away peacefully April 27, 2016 in Reedsburg, WI. Beloved husband of the late Norma Hecht nee Greig. Loving father of Susan (William) Gebhardt, Judy (Robert) Bass and Janice (Dave) Vock. Cherished grandfather of Matthew Gebhardt, William (Tera) Gebhardt, Eric (Brittney) Vanderpoel, David Michael (Laura) Vock and Emily Vock. Great grandfather of Brynna and Kenley Gebhardt. Dear brother of the late Harold Hecht. Erwin was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the 12th Armored Division. Charter member and past Commander of the Steger VFW. Erwin retired as a letter carrier from the Steger Post Office after 27 years of service. He also worked at Hecht''s Shoes, the family business. Visitation Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Illinois. Funeral Service Monday, May 2, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Steger Memorial Chapel.
