Esther E Gasior

Esther E. Gasior, nee Szalbierz, age 88, late of Merrillville, IN, formerly of South Holland, IL ended her long battle with cancer Sunday, May 5, 2013. Esther was born on Valentine''s Day, 1925 in Chicago, IL. Beloved wife of the late Chester P. Gasior whom she married on Halloween 1952. She is survived by her best friend, companion, and caretaker son Michael Gasior, Cindy (Rick) Boersma of Kansas City, MO, and Debbie (Mike) Zeleznik of LaGrange Park, IL. Proud grandmother of Joe Zeleznik 28, Adriane Boersma 25, and Ellen Zeleznik 22. She is one of eleven children survived by Rita (late Tony) Dorabialski, Virginia Barney, and Leonard (Rosemary) Szalbierz. Kind aunt of many nieces and nephews. She had many friend who loved her. Preceded in death by her parents Michael and Francis Szalbierz. Visitation Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Home James E. Lying in state Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Church (801 West 73rd Ave. Merrillville, IN 46410.)
