Eugene "Gene" S. Jezior, 86 of Sauk Village, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Franciscan Health Hospital, Dyer, IN.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Ann, nee Wajda.  Gene was the loving father of Debbie (Tim) O'Connor, Eugene (Merry Ellen) Jezior, Vickie (John) Reyna, Stephan Jezior, Pamela (Troy) Jezior-Bell, John (Roseanne) Jezior, and David Jezior.  Cherished grandfather of Jennifer O'Connor, James O'Connor, Monica (Marc) Ciesco, Melanie (Alex) Szwet, Stefanie (Don) Koschnitzky, John J. Reyna, Amanda (Andrew) Muha, Kristin Jezior, and Jillian Jezior; Adoring great-grandfather of many great-grandchildren.  Loving brother of Larry (late Evelyn), Ronald, and Gerald and beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Gene was born on December 21, 1933, at home in Chicago, IL, to Sigmund and Jean Irene (Bystrzycki) Jezior. Gene was a longtime resident of Sauk Village, IL, residing in the community for the past 61 years.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a Medic and AP during the Korean War.  After the Air Force he worked many jobs until he found a home at Illinois Tool Works for 20+ years, until he retired in 1995 to spend time with his family.  He was devoted to his family and spent many happy moments with his children and grandchildren.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation Sunday, May 31, 2020 from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. Prayer service Monday, June 1, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. from Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Spring Ln.) Dyer, IN, with Rev. David Krolczyk, officiating. The service will be live streamed at 10:30 a.m. from Smits Funeral Home website (go to the Facebook link at www.SMITSFH.com) . Interment Holy Cross Cemetery - Calumet City, IL.
