Eugene W. Prystalski

Dr. Eugene W. Prystalski, age 93, of Dyer, IN, formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024.  Beloved husband of the late Marilyn J. Prystalski, nee Ward.  Loving father of Jeanne (William) Atkinson, Sheryl (Douglas) Stremplewski, Thomas (Norilyn) Prystalski, Julie (Paul) Bonoma, and Lynn (Daniel) Kloos. Proud grandfather of Billy, Bryan, Julie, Sheri, Amy, Lauren, Adam, Cody, Elizabeth, Jake, Max and Sophia; great-grandfather of Tessa, Mia, and Bo.  Dear brother of Leonard (late Carole) Prystalski and the late Carol Prystalski.  Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Leonard James and Angeline Prystalski.

Dr. Eugene Prystalski was a practicing dentist in South Holland since graduating in 1958 from Loyola University.  He was a past president of the South Holland Lions Club, member of the Chicago and South Suburban Dental Societies, and has been associated with the South Suburban Cancer Society as well as the United Way Committee.

He was a proud United States Navy veteran.  He was a member of the South Holland Plan Commission serving as chairman of the Parks Operation and Programs Committee.  He was also chairman of the Public Safety Committee which included police, fire, and paramedic departments.  He was a village trustee for the Village of South Holland for 13 years.

Memorial visitation Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30.Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN.  Private inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery—Calumet City, Illinois.
