Eugene G Salmen

Eugene G. Salmen, age 96 of Steger, IL. passed away peacefully, January 24, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Mardel for 73 years; loving father of Stephen Salmen, Maureen (Gerry) Maupin, Kristine Salmen, the late Tim Salmen and Mitch Salmen; cherished grandfather of Tim Salmen. Eugene served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII, he was an active member of Steger VFW Post 8283 and St. John’s Faith Church in Matteson. Eugene worked as a ceramic tile setter for many years and was the oldest retiree of the Chicago Tilelayers and Bricklayers Union. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
