Evelyn C Meneghin

Evelyn C. Meneghin (nee Dalla-Vecchia) age 85 entered eternal presence with the Lord on April 20, 2009. Preceded by her loving husband, Chris Meneghin. Beloved mother of Debbie (Phil) Mullens Sr. of Crown Point and Chris J.P. (Tina) Meneghin of Wasilla, Alaska. Loving grandmother Nonni to Phillip Jr. (Erika), Bob, Catherine and Daniel Mullens; Christopher, Sarah and Emily Meneghin. Great-grandmother to Madison and Dylan Mullens. Sister, sister-in-law, aunt and cousin to many. Evelyn was born in Italy, where her sister, Rosina Crosara and sister-in-law, Pina Dalla-Vecchia with their families and other relatives still reside. She arrived in Dearborn, Michigan at 15 years old where she lived with her parents, Guiseppe and Maria Dalla-Vecchia and brothers, Aldo and Tony, until her marriage to Chris Meneghin from Chicago in 1952. She has been a resident of South Holland, Illinois since 1956. Evelyn was a devoted wife and helpmate to her husband, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wonderful mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend. Evelyn is most known as proprietor of Bowl-Mor Lanes in Calumet City for 32 years. Friends and family are invited to join her children at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. South Holland, IL on Friday, May 1, 2009 from 2:00-8:00 PM and on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 12 noon. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home with Pastor Joshua Poole officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Missionaries to Italy through Bible Baptist Church, Highland, Indiana. Checks can be made out to Bible Baptist Church.
