Faye Faber, nee Aardsma, age 90, of Lansing, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 5, 2026. Beloved wife of (Marion) John Faber. Loving mother of Alice (Steven) Tuuk, Brenda (Roy) VanderMolen, Dirk Faber, Carl (Judy) Faber. Cherished grandmother of Patric (Janette) Tuuk, Alicia Tuuk, Emily (Tyler) Oswald, Sydnee (Kyler) VanVoorst, Craig (Jennifer) VanderMolen, Amy Magruder, Kyle VanderMolen (fiancé Tiffany Wisowaty), Carlee Faber, Tyler Faber, Ian Faber, Annika Faber, and Lydia Faber. Great-grandmother of Aubrey, Brendan, Elijah, Eloise, Evelyn, Hannah, Isaiah, Judah, Lottie, and Margo. Dear sister of the late Dirk (late Wilma) Aardsma, Marlene (Jim VanDyk) Betten, and step-sister to Calvin (Sandra) Aardsma, Wayne Aardsma, Harold (Joan) Aardsma. Kind aunt to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Dirk and Alice Aardsma, stepmother (late) Angeline Aardsma.

Faye was a woman of deep faith who loved the Lord with all her heart. From an early age, she was instrumental in assisting her father in evangelism ministry. She faithfully served by driving the church bus and playing the piano while her father organized Hammond Christian Reformed Church in Hammond, Indiana, and later Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Burbank, Illinois. Alongside her husband, she was also actively involved in leading the church’s young people’s group, touching many lives through her kindness, guidance, and unwavering faith.

Faye attended Chicago Christian High School, where she formed many lifelong friendships that she treasured until her final days.

After graduating high school, she attended Roseland School of Nursing in Roseland, Illinois. She went on to dedicate her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Roseland Community Hospital, faithfully serving from 1956 to 2018. Her compassion, dedication, and work ethic left a lasting impact on countless patients and coworkers throughout her remarkable nursing career.

Faye also enjoyed camping and traveling with her family during many summer vacations, visiting nearly every state in the United States as well as several provinces in Canada. She especially loved being near the water and cherished spending summers at the family cottage on Cedar Lake, Indiana.

Family meant everything to Faye. She always loved gathering her family together and treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her home was a place of warmth, love, and welcome to all who entered.

In addition to her nursing career, Faye was co-owner of Faber Paint Stores located in St. John, Highland, and Crown Point, Indiana, until 2022.

Faye will be remembered for her steadfast faith, loving heart, servant spirit, and devotion to her family and community. Her legacy of love and faithfulness will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.

Celebration of life to take place Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. directly at Bethel Christian Reformed Church 3500 Glenwood-Lansing Road, Lansing, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Bible League International (www.bibleleague.org)
