Faye E. Murks, nee Barnette, age 78, of Crete, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Beloved wife of the late James Robert "Bob" Murks. Loving mother of Patty (Steve) Gifford and Tammy Murks. Cherished grandmother of Steve Jr. (Rachel) Gifford, Josiah (Corinne) Gifford, Rachel Gifford and Ben (Jocelyn) Gifford. Great grandmother of Declan, Aidan, Seamus and Charlotte Gifford, Paisley Faye and Kaden Roberts and Elliot Jo Gifford. Dear sister of Dean Holmes. Preceded in death by her siblings Leola, Ray, Margie, Tommie, Lois, R.L. and James Earl. Thank you to her devoted caregivers Heather Wascher and Karen Anker. Faye retired from Crete-Monee 201-U school district in the payroll department. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Faye loved the Lord and loved singing. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Memorial visitation Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until time of the memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel - 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Illinois.
