Francis W. "Fran" Grant Jr., age 77, late of St. John, IN, formerly of Tinley Park, IL, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012. Loving husband of Beverly Grant,nee Papke. Father of Jeffrey (Virginia) Grant, Gregory Grant, Bradley (Maria) Grant, Shelley (David) Grant Sharkey, and Garry (Allison) Grant. Proud grandpa of 10; great-grandpa of 2. Brother of Dan Grant, Sandra (late Richard) Pickham, and the late Ted (Joan) Grant. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and one aunt. Preceded in death by his parents Francis W. Sr. and Mary J. Grant. Visitation Tuesday, September 18, 2012 from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311. Remembrance service Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church of Worth(7100 W. 112th St. Worth, IL 60482) with Rev. Karen Hundrieser officiating. Interment Private. Mr. Grant was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 141 and a dedicated employee for Jewel Food Stores for 35 years. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to United Methodist Church of Worth appreciated.
