Freddie “Grace” Fennema (nee Smallwood), age 86, of Cadley, GA, and Lansing, IL passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Loving wife of the late Robert “Bob” G. Fennema; loving mom of four daughters: Gale Boone, Lisa (Roger) Newenhouse, Kathy (Tim) De Vries, and Rachel (Jacob) Darley; grandma of Darren Newenhouse, Dana (Carl) Pycz, Andrea Newenhouse, Calvin Darley, Chloe Darley, and Camille Darley; grandma Grace of Hunter Pycz, Sawyer Pycz, Logan Rivera, Max Rivera and Mario Rivera; sister of Linda (Sam) Walden; aunt of Eddie Walden and Becky Glosson. Sister-in-law of the late Grace (late John) Vander Zee, late Edith (late Nick) Ridder, late Ann (late Cornelius) Lindemulder, late John (late Josephine), late Dorothy (late Cornelius) Gouwens, late Eleanor (late Rich) Hook, late Bud (late Gerry) (Monet) Fennema, late Gilbert (late Minnie) Fennema, late Jess (late Harold) Winterhoff, late Rosetta (late Robert) Fattore, late Andrew (late Lois) Fennema Jr., late Joyce (late Bud) Rinkema, late Gerald (late Joyce) Fennema, and the late Donald Fennema.  Grace is survived by many other nieces, nephews, and extended family she loved.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN 46311.  Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.
