Gay L. Hoekstra

Gay L. Hoekstra, nee Veld, age 86, of Plainfield, IL, formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Hoekstra. Loving mother of Richard Hoekstra, Rev. Robert (Heidi) Hoekstra, Sandra (Kraig) Tripp, Debra (Steve) Bult, and Jana (Steve) Shear. Cherished grandmother of 16; great-grandmother of 12. Dear sister of Audrey (Phil) Rietveld. Preceded in death by her parents Egbert and Ruth Veld.  Gay was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162 ^nd St. South Holland, IL.
