George H. Beezhold

George H. Beezhold, age 82, of Munster, IN, was welcomed into his new home by his faithful Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 8, 2020.  Beloved husband of Anita Beezhold, nee Lenderink.  Loving father of Carol (Joel) Van Drunen, the late Cathy Peerbolte, Caryn Wiltjer, the late Carrie Beezhold (infant), Camie (Dale) Hillegonds, and Carisa Beezhold.  Cherished grandfather of Zach (Rachelle) Van Drunen, Travis (Alyce) Van Drunen, Ryker (Rachel) Van Drunen, Noah (Jessie) Van Drunen, Jaci (Keith) Koopmans, Heather (Ben) Byma, Jessica (Adam) Hall, Ty (Emily) Hillegonds, Jaime (Benjamin) Pirus, Derek Hillegonds, Luke Hillegonds, and Filip Beezhold and 17 great-grandchildren.  Dear brother of Arend (Ann) Beezhold and the late Renee (Charles) Niemeyer.

George was a strong but silent type of man with a dry sense of humor and a quick wit. He trusted in Jesus as his Lord and Savior and served Him in various roles including as an Elder and Deacon at Bethel C.R.C. and Momence C.R.C.  He was the past owner of several disposal companies and a travel agency. He retired from National Waste Services after 45 years in the industry.  He served his country as a U.S. Navy veteran. He was loved by his family and will be missed.

Visitation Thursday,  February 13, 2020 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN.  Funeral service, Friday, February 14, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 3500 Glenwood-Lansing Rd. Lansing, IL, with services conducted by Rev. Jason Nelson officiating.  Burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL.
