George J. Bellamy, age 81, of St. John, IN, passed away November 23, 2016. He was survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna, nee Lowe; daughter, Kerry Bellamy-Jasek (Greg); son, Kevin Bellamy (Jeff Casey); Grandsons, Ben & Sam Jasek; sister, Grace Branic. Visitation Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and Monday, November 28, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Ln. (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN 46311. Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery – Schererville, IN. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Hospice of the Calumet Area. George was born in Butler, IN on October 20, 1935. George graduated from Hammond Technical Vocational High. He began active duty with the US Navy Sea Bees in 1954.
