George C. Whitman, age 92, late of Merrillville, IN, formerly of South Holland, IL and Roswell, NM, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013. Beloved husband of Jean Whitman, nee Vanselow. Devoted dad of Russell (Joan) Whitman, Phil Whitman, Keith (Lenore) Whitman, and Nancy (Robert) Poane. Proud grandpa of 10; Great-grandpa of 8. Preceded in death by his parents Russell S. and Alma Whitman. Jason Whitman officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery - Worth, IL. Mr. Whitman was a WWII Navy Veteran having served on the U.S.S. Intrepid.
