George A. Widstrand III, age 68, of Lansing, IL, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022.  Caring father of Melissa (Patrick) Doud, Miranda (Demetri) Arapakis, Monica (Justin) Teller, and Kelsey (Brad Duncan) Linn.  Loving son of Laura and the late George Widstrand II.  Grandfather of Anna Arapakis.  Dear brother of Randy (Christine) Widstrand, Jeff (Linda) Widstrand, and David Widstrand.

Memorial visitation Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the prayer service at 11:30 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN, with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating.  Private family inurnment Holy Cross Cemetery – Calumet City, IL.

George was a lifelong Chicago Sports Fan, worked for Chicago Block Company for many years, worked at the family owned Burnham Bakery, and also worked in the construction industry.
