Gerald "Jerry" J. Greenawalt

Gerald “Jerry” J. Greenawalt, age 82 of Crete, Illinois, passed away peacefully June 5, 2018. Beloved husband of Helen Greenawalt nee Hill. Loving father of Clyde (Annie) Greenawalt, Annette (Skip) Disabato and Anna Marie Greenawalt. Cherished grandfather of Benjamin; great-grandfather of Addison. Preceded in death by his sister Darlene Greenawalt and his parents Clyde and Julia Greenawalt. Jerry will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He retired after 35 years of service as a heavy equipment operator with Local 150. Jerry then went on to start his own trucking company, Greenawalt Trucking.   Visitation, Friday, June 8, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service 11:30 a.m. at Smits Funeral Homes – Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd., Steger, IL.
