Gerald C. Johnson

Gerald C. Johnson, age 86, of Dyer, IN, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023.  Beloved husband of  the late Helen Johnson, nee Nemitz. Loving father of Katherine (Kevin) McGuffin, late Jerilynne Johnson, Wayne (Sharon) Johnson, Roseann (Gene) Backlin, Jacqueline (Dan) Burns, Ginger (Shannon Abney) Johnson, Gerald (Elizabeth) Johnson Jr., and Wendy (Duane) Borcherding.  Cherished grandfather of Benjamin McGuffin, Sarah (Jason) Stallard, Brandon McGuffin, Jeff Johnson, Zachary (Aften) Backlin, Marissa Backlin, Ethan (Madi) Backlin, Daniel (Kadelyn) Burns, Dylan Burns, Steven Shifflet, Sophie Shifflet, Kimberly Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Emma Johnson, and Bayle Borcherding.  Great-grandfather of Layla McGuffin, Aiden Stallard, Keira Stallard, Rowynn Burns, Oliver Burns, and Sadie Burns.  Dear brother of Sandi (late Ronald) Kawanna and the late Donna (late Gilbert) Beushausen.  Gerald was a United States Army Veteran and an avid golfer. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Memorial visitation Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the prayer service at 11:30 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.), Dyer, IN.  Interment private.
