Gerald Arthur McHugh, age 82, of Dyer, IN, formerly of Lynwood, IL passed away, peacefully at home, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Loving father of Sarah McHugh. Dear brother of Catherine (late Ray) Rossi, and Mary Ann (late Rudy) LaRotunda. Loving uncle of Colleen (James) Toney, Ray (Lynn) Rossi, Carleen Miketinas, Joshua Miketinas, Cathleen McHugh, Skylar Claussen, and Paul Claussen. Cherished by his extended family Ravenna, Michelle, Eddie, Tatiana, Gianna, Timotheos, Emma, Carolyn, Brian, Mary Ann, and Mary Beth. Preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Ellen McHugh, his brother Thomas McHugh, and his sister-in-law Virginia. Mr. McHugh was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired employee of Commonwealth Edison. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Visitation also on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 9:30 until the time of the mass at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. John the Evangelist Day Chapel, 11301 W. 93rd Ave., St. John, IN.
