Gerald L. “Jerry” Purcell, age 74, late of St. John, IN, formerly of Dolton, IL, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018. Loving husband of Charlene Purcell, nee Wills. Father of Michele (Carl Cleaver) Purcell, Michael Purcell, and Jennifer (Robert Rasmussen) Purcell. Dear brother of Nancy (Fred) Johnson, and the late Thomas (Sharon) Purcell. Kind uncle of Fred Johnson, Tamara Johnson, Terri Purcell, and Thomas Purcell. Preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Catherine Purcell. Visitation Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home James E. Janusz Director, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN, with services conducted by Deacon Tim Springer.
