Geraldine "Geri" Pauline Behrens

Geraldine (Geri) Pauline Behrens (nee Gotfryd), age 80, of Crete, IL, formerly of Chicago (Roseland) and Dolton, passed into a better world on February 20, 2026; daughter of the late Jacob Vincent Gotfryd, Jr. and Valeria Krecioch. Wife of the late Timothy (Tim) Behrens for 57 years, mother of the late Timothy James (TJ, 1971-2017), sister-in-law of Patricia Reid, Arlene Alcott, Clyde (Babe) Behrens and Karen Sneed, aunt to nieces and nephews.

Highly admired by her colleagues, and many friends, for her intelligence, loyalty and humor.  Geri enjoyed a remarkable career of 50 years playing an integral part of building and shaping the success of the law firm of Muchin, Gitles, Zavis, Pearl & Galler. Allan Muchin said, "Geri was a special person, a great friend, and a unique asset to the creation of a major law firm. I relied on Geri for her hard work and knowledge. She became a part of my family and I will miss her greatly."

Animals, wild and pets, were things that Geri enjoyed and supported on a daily basis over course of her 57 years of married life. Travels with Tim to Mexico, Hawaii, and semi-annual vacations to Las Vegas, NV were her passions. Geri will be forever loved and forever missed.
