Gerrit R. DeVries, age 95, of St. John, IN, formerly of Lansing, IL, went home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 24, 2020.  Beloved husband of Leona “Dolly” DeVries.  Loving father of Judith (Stan) Feekes, Gerrit H. (Dianne) DeVries and Robert (Sandra) DeVries.  Devoted grandfather of Jonathan (Heather) Feekes, Joel (Amy) Feekes, Jennifer (Brian) Dudzik, Ryan (Jennifer) DeVries, Samantha (Mario) Ortiz, and Cassandra (Andrew) Siersema and great-grandfather of Jane, Tess, Jocelyn, Grant, late Anna, Ellie, Isabella, Lucy, Joseph, Ethan, Elena and Jack.  Dear brother of Tracy (late Richard) Heemstra.   Mr. DeVries was a U.S. Navy W.W. II Veteran and was retired from Kraft Foods.

Funeral service open to friends and family on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN with services conducted by Rev.
