Glennyce F Van Til

Glennyce F. van Til nee Den Besten, age 80, of Grant Park, Illinois, passed away September 27, 2017. Glennyce was born near Armour, South Dakota to George and Anna Den Besten. She married Alan van Til in 1971 at the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church, Iowa. Glennyce and Alan moved from Ames, Iowa when Alan finished his Ph.D. in chemistry to Wood Dale, IL in 1975, then to Itasca, Illinois in late 1976. In 2003 they moved to their current home. She attended Dordt and Calvin College to obtain her B.A. Glennyce taught elementary education at Christian Schools and later continued her education at Iowa State University to obtain a B.S. degree in Home Economics. Loving mother of Evelyn (Woody) Drake, Andrew (Grace) van Til, Audrey (Steven) Lenger, and Carolyn (Michael) Ryan. Cherished grandmother of Izaak, Sofie, Noah van Til, Benjamin and Jonathan Lenger, Drew, Jake and Alec Ryan. Dear sister of Merle (Fran) Den Besten, Helen (Ben) Jones, Ruth (Gerald) Vander Linden, Marylou (Charles) Greene, Betty (Harold) De Boef and Leonne (Eric) Nikkel. Gennyce enjoyed genealogy, gardening, cooking, and travel. She traveled with Alan to 49 of the 50 states, 8 of 13 provinces and territories of Canada, 13 European Countries, Israel, Jordan. And Turkey. Visitation Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Momence Funeral Chapel 203 N. Locust St. Momence, IL. Visitation Monday October 2, 2017, 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. at Faith United Reformed Church 130 W Corning Rd, Beecher, IL. Interment at Sherburnville Cemetery – Grant Park, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be given to American Bible Society or the Salvation Army.
