Gordon M. Pierce, age 84, of South Holland, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.  Beloved husband of the late Lorraine Pierce, nee Lach.  Loving father of Scott (Bernadette) Pierce.  Preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Gladys Pierce.  Gordon was a high school Math teacher for 42 years at Thornton and Thornwood.  He loved sports, especially the Cubs.  He also enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and listening to music, especially songs by the Eagles.  Gordon was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. South Holland, IL, leaving for a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 15746 Union Ave, Harvey, IL.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery – Calumet City, IL.  There will be a luncheon to follow at Warsaw Inn, 2180 Glenwood Dyer Rd, Lynwood, IL.  For more information, please call 708-333-7000 or visit our online obituary and guestbook at www.SMITSFH.com
