Grace I. Aruguete, nee Staat, age 78, of Tinley Park formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 17, 2016. Loving mother of Jaime (Valerie) Aruguete, Jill (Dean) Aruguete-Siewert, Joy (Hector) Aruguete-Cuadra, and the late Jeff Aruguete. Proud grandmother of Eristole (Joe), Darrel, Ruben, and Sara. Dear sister of Carol (Les) Van Beveren, Duane (Marilyn) Staat, and the late John Staat. Preceded in death by her parents Rev. John and Jane Staat, nee Heemstra. Kind aunt of many nieces and nephews. Grace worked as a Nurse and retired in 2003, she enjoyed spending time with her family especially at her summer home at Bill’s Lake, Michigan, swimming, playing piano, watching movies, completing crossword puzzles, and as a second mother to so many. Visitation Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral service Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL with Rev. Marilyn Owens officiating.
