Guadalupe “Lupe” Lopez, age 66, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 17, 2021 in Harlingen, TX. Lupe was born on December 12, 1955 to Sotero Lopez Sr. and Guadalupe (Garcia) Lopez in Raymondville, TX.
Lupe graduated from Bloom Township High School, then shortly after he enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country. Lupe was a well-respected Psychiatric Nursing Assistant at Rio Grande State Center in Harlingen TX where he eventually retired. Lupe’s sense of humor was unmatched, and he was known for his love of playing the guitar, golf, bowling, and cheering on his favorite team, the Chicago Bears.
He is survived by his daughters Corrine Lopez and Lorraine (Clayton) Sago; granddaughters Bianca Lopez, Makayla Lopez, Alayna Sago, and Lilyana Sago; siblings Sotero (SanJuana) Lopez Jr., Alexandra (Leo) Garza, and Peter Lopez; nieces and nephews Alexia Graziano, Sotero Lopez III, Chance Lopez, Jeanie Garza-Glickley, Anthony Garza, Gabrielle Lopez and Peter Lopez Jr.; along with many extended relatives and life-long friends. Lupe was preceded in death by his parents Sotero and Guadalupe Lopez, and his nephew Nathaniel Lopez. He will live in our hearts and memories forever.
