Guido Balassone

Guido Balassone, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Beloved husband of Mary Rose Balassone. Loving father of Therese (Frank) Kushman and John Balassone. Cherished grandfather of Nicholas Balassone, Brittany (Michael) Smith, Benjamin Balassone, and Patrick Kushman. Fond brother-in-law and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Treasured friend of many. Preceded in death by his daughter Elizabeth Balassone, siblings Lucy Coppotelli, Anthony Balassone, John Balassone and parents Carmine and Maria Balassone. Guido was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Guido proudly served as a member of the United States Army. He also worked at NICOR Gas for 34 years and 18 years in the public works department for The Village of South Chicago Heights. Visitation Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at Smits - Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd., Steger, Illinois 60475.
