Harold H. Goldsmith, age 89, of Crete, formerly Dolton, IL, passed away peacefully Friday, December 30, 2016. Beloved husband of 65 years of Jeannine Goldsmith, nee Lupe. Devoted father of Shirley Johnson, Edward (Diane), Kathy (Sonny) Martine, Theresa (William) Zencka, Robert (Georgia), Donald (Tracy), James, David (Tracy) and the late Kevin (Becky) Goldsmith. Proud grandfather of 20; great-grandfather of 10. Preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Helen Goldsmith, 4 brothers and one sister. Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m.at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30&Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN 46311. Lying in state Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church (22400 Torrence Ave. Sauk Village, IL 60411) with Rev. David Krolczyk officiating. Inurnment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL.
