Harold Lee Vanderbilt, 78, passed away in his home on Thursday, April 1 st , 2021.
Harold was born in Harvey, Illinois on May 1 st , 1942, son of Louis and Tracy (Lindemulder) Vanderbilt.
Harold served in the Army from 1960 to 1963 out of high school and later became an electrician, a trade in which he retired from. He was active in his church (Riverside Reformed Church), belonged to a dart club, and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Sauk Village, IL and the American Legion. Harold loved to travel and was blessed to have visited many places.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Gloria (who passed away shortly after birth in 1946), his first wife (Beverly Triezenberg) and second wife (Lorraine Hejmej).
He is survived by his daughters Becky (Billy) and Cindy (Tracy), his grandchildren: Stephanie, Patricia, Maureen, Alexis, Samantha, Justin, and Mason, and great grandchildren: Adelynn, Payton, Lily, Ava, Everly, and Liberty. A small graveside service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Crown Point, Indiana on Friday, April 16 th @ 3:00 p.m.
