Harry G. Pals, age 95, of South Holland, IL, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012. Dear father of Sharen Groot and Russell (Linda) Pals; cherished grandfather of Brian Groot, Allison Backman , and Amanda Keith and great-grandfather of Anika Groot. Mr. Pals was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Pals (nee DeYoung) in 2011. Visitation Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL 60473. Funeral service Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ben Tol officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL. Memorial contributions may be given to World Concern. Mr. Pals was the owner of the former Pals Variety Store /Ben Franklin Store in South Holland, IL for many years.
